Happy Friday! Last week I received news that I was accepted to rewardStyle and it’s subsidiary,LiketoKnow.it. This was one of the first companies to create a way for influencers to monetize their websites, blogs, and photos to create their own personal “brand” to collaborate with different businesses. LiketoKnow.it is an app that allows you to shop all of your favorite influencers’ looks just by a quick screen shot of their Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest photos. Once you screen shot the picture, a notification will come up telling you that my look has been saved to your favorites on the app. You are then able to carefully shop each item that is pictured. You also have the option to sign up for email subscriptions in order to be notified immediately when I post an image on my LiketoKnow.it profile.

This app is amazing, makes shopping easy and less of a hassle. I remember the days when some of my favorite influencers would post an Instagram picture with random brand tags. I would then spend way too much time trying to track down where a specific item was from or to put in the right key words to find something similar on the internet. LiketoKnow.it eliminates that pain and makes it easy to see everything the influencer is wearing, plus additional options. I will always try to post the exact items I am wearing in my photos and then share alternatives in case my look isn’t exactly what you are looking for. One thing I do on every LiketoKnow.it post for my followers is to include affordable alternatives (dupes) per the designer items or vice versa. If I am wearing a dupe, I will also provide the designer option. My goal is to make fashion and beauty convenient, simple, affordable, and fun. Therefore, I want to appeal to all audiences on my platform and provide a multitude of items at varying prices.

This is a new and exciting venture for me and I cannot wait to see where it goes! Please let me know if you have additional questions after reviewing the template below.

Cheers to the weekend!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend celebrating your mom or whomever the motherly figure is in your life. I have had a few people reach out and ask about where I get my inspiration for my photos and where I like to shop. To be honest, I have always shopped at such a variety of places and I believe thats how I found my style and my niche of where I fit in the blogging world. I would not say that I fit into one style category, but I can definitely tell you which ones best describe my taste. Mind you, my weekday style can be quite different from my weekend style. (Haha) For reference, here are the style categories that I would use to describe my looks: Sophisticated, Casual/Casual Chic, Preppy, Sporty, Resort, Haute Couture, and Formal Business Wear.

I mentioned in my Instagram post last Friday that one of the reasons I restarted my blog is to empower women through fashion. When I say this, this is not in terms of looks, this is by empowering through CONFIDENCE. Being comfortable and confident  in yourself can make or break how you perform in your career, maintain your relationships with your family and friends, and how we view ourselves.

Growing up as a women, there are so many changes that occur in our lives. I was the tall, broad shouldered chick with flaming red hair. I wasn’t petite, size small, or felt like I had the “ideal” look growing up. Surprise!! No one has the ideal look and not all clothing lines fit true to size. I’ve worn a size 2 and a size 10 before in dresses depending on the brand. Do NOT get bogged down over a number. I found that my perception of “myself” and my confidence came out through fashion as I learned my style and what I believed was flattering on ME. It’s all about how you carry yourself and what is comfortable for YOU. If you put an outfit on and think “Dang, I am feelin’ good as hell” (Lizzo moment) you are likely going to go into your workday feeling confident to conquer whatever is on your plate that day. There have been numerous occasions where I didn’t try on an outfit before an event, or grabbed something quick off the rack and realized the outfit was too short on my legs…. Then I would spend the entire day and/or evening being uncomfortable and/or worrying about who noticed I was uncomfortable. My point is, WEAR what BRINGS out your CONFIDENCE and makes you feel like you can take on anything. We are all smart, kind, and beautiful people that deserve to feel confident in our style so that we can bring our BEST SELVES out into the world each day. Fashion is art and I am here to help women (and men as well) feel confident and positive about their style!

I have compiled multiple lists below of the current places that I shop or browse for inspiration. These brands consist of many different styles, but all sell an aspect of one of my style types that I mentioned above. You can now shop my looks on the LiketoKnow.it app by searching under the influencer tab @missscarlettalexandria. Please let me know if you have any questions about how to use the app. You can screenshot my Instagram photos and a link will be emailed to you with my picture. My photo will be saved on the LiketoKnow.it app for you to purchase my outfits and lifestyle goods.

~ Cyber Pink Ultra Seamless Sports Bra: Gymshark ~ Cyber Pink Ultra Seamless Leggings: Gymshark ~ Adidas Tennis Shoes: GlitterKicks ~ White Scrunchies: Amazon ~

Happy Tuesday!!

I want to share a little bit about my workout essentials, some of the classes that I have taken, and share my wishlist! Fingers crossed that many of these fitness studios will open in the near future so we can get back to the grind with our favorite instructors.

GYMSHARK:

  • Gymshark is my favorite workout apparel at the moment. I love it because it is affordable, durable, and trendy! Growing up I always had certain workout outfits that were my favorite and thats because I was only comfortable wearing things that were flattering to my shape. As of right now, Gymshark is totally my fit and I absolutely love the stretchy seamless fabric. For my body type, the seamless keeps me sucked in and the leggings stay up while I run. I think what differentiates this company is they provide high quality/cute products at a price that doesn’t break the bank. Yes, you could go to T.J. Maxx and get a few things for what a GymShark set is worth, but I know this brand is going to last a long time and I’ll feel great while wearing it. I look at it this way, I could get two Gymshark sets for the equivalent of one Lululemon set. Now, I can’t go into detail about Lululemon because I have never owned any of it. If you invest in the right material and brand it will likely last for a very long time.

GLITTERKICKS:

  • I love GlitterKicks! I’m definitely a blinged out shoe kind of gal. My mom came across this couple’s website who started selling name brand shoes that add “glitter” or “bling” to them. These are super fun, but you do pay more for these than you would if you bought my Adidas tennis shoes above else where. My mom always gets my sister and I a pair for Christmas each year. I would consider these more of an “athleisure” shoe. I do not actually wear these to run in or during workout classes. I want my hips, knees, and ankles to have the best support possible, so I do go get fitted for running shoes to keep my body safe. Usually, I decide between Asics or Mizunos.

THE WORKOUT CLASSES I HAVE TRIED:

Shred415 – This is my FAVORITE FITNESS CLASS EVER and I am currently a member at the Highlands location in Louisville. This is a 60-minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout with treadmills, free weights, and a deck. Here is my blog I wrote about my experience and progress with this type of cardio and strength training. Before the studios closed due to COVID-19, I would attend at least 4-5 times a week.

Solidcore – VERY INTENSE pilates-based resistance training! I love Solidcore and was a member for about six months during the time I lived in Indianapolis. There is not a studio in Southern Indiana or Louisville yet, but hopefully soon. It is a killer 50-minute workout that focuses on your slow-twitch muscle fibers. I usually went to this class 3-4 times a week and paired it with cardio and other training at my gym, Anytime Fitness.

F45 – HARD and FUN WORKOUT! Talk about a fat burner! I have only taken this class once in Indianapolis and it is a 45-minute sweat fest. This workout builds your lean muscle mass and includes a multitude of activities. These include: cycling, rowing, punching, pulling, twisting, kicking, lifting, squating, etc. You can read more about this on their website, which is linked above.

Pure Barre – LIFT YOUR SEATS! Talk about challenging! I couldn’t walk for a few days after I took my first Pure Barre class with one of my great friends. These classes are full of low impact-high intensity movements that will sculpt your muscles and change your body. Another thing that I love about Pure Barre is the amount of different classes that they offer. They have four different types and this allows you to move at the pace you are comfortable with.

Bikram Hot Yoga – HOT HOT HOT!! It has been a few years since I have taken a class. This was quite different from any class I had taken before. It was extremely challenging mentally and physically. The hardest part for me was getting my body to move… and move SLOWLY while sweating to death. Props to all of you hot yoga Queens and Kings out there because this is tough. To be totally honest, yoga is not my favorite, so I usually try to stick to more cardio and strength training type exercises.

WORKOUT CLASSES I WOULD LIKE TO TRY:

THINGS I USE BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER MY WORKOUT:

Keep moving your body! I am always open to new workouts, apparel, and products. Please let me know if you have suggestions. 🙂

Meet Shipley! She is a full size Goldendoodle and I am going to share some Q&A about her. This is cheesy, but I thought it would be fun to switch up how I present my blog content. 😉

  1. Where did her name come from?
    • Her mom and dad started officially dating and were frequent fliers in college at a cute little hometown bar called Shipley’s Tavern. They wanted to name her after something significant to them at Hanover College (where they both attended) and that was their favorite.
  2. Date of birth?
    • May 1, 2019
  3. Current weight?
    • 70 Pounds
  4. Favorite toy?
    • Her shark (pictured above). She absolutely loves it!
  5. Favorite activity?
    • Playing fetch with her shark, going on walks (code word: Yogurt because she is starting to learn what W-A-L-K means as well), wrestling with her brother, and watching TV.
  6. What fascinates her?
    • Ice cubes coming out the fridge, bubbles, and when mom and dad throw the football in the backyard.
  7. Who are her puppy best friends?
    • Her brother, Yadi (Frenchie) and her Biological sister, Jetta (Goldendoodle). Shipley is a lucky girl because her parent’s best friends picked out her sister the same day. They have play dates about every month.
  8. What are her dislikes?
    • The vacuum, trash bags, the leaf blower, going up steps, climbing in/out of car, and any delivery person that comes to the door.
  9. Where does she get groomed?
    • PetSmart
  10. Where did she receive her puppy diploma from?
    • Flying Feet Agility in Floyds Knobs, IN. I highly recommend dog training there if you live in the area.

Cheers to you Shipley! We love you!

  30. THE GIFT OF TIME
    • This is my favorite idea of all because it cannot be bought. I realize this is challenging right now due to the current circumstances in our world with COVID-19, but even if you can’t physically be present with your mother, a Zoom call would be great. Have a virtual brunch or dinner date. I think spending quality time with your loved ones is one of the most precious gifts anyone can receive.

I hope these 30 ideas/items allow you to figure out the perfect way to celebrate your mom on Mother’s Day. It’s a special day and I believe during times like this it is even more important to show your loved ones how much you care about them. Everyday we have with one another is a gift and that is why it is so critical that we do not take any day for granted.

I love you, Mom!! ❤

PROMO CODE: Scarlett25 for 25% off at Dress & Dwell

~ Purple Ruffle Dress: Dress & Dwell ~ Fuchsia Bow Heels: Betsey Johnson ~

Happy Wednesday! Today I said goodbye to 23 and opened the door to 24. I wanted to create a list of things that I have planned to do or want to do while I am 24. I think these ideas and thoughts are very relatable for a young person and I hope they inspire you to take action. Unfortunately, I realize some of these things may not occur due to COVID-19, but I am an optimistic person and this is what I am hoping to pursue within the next year.

On my instagram, @missscarlettalexandria, I mentioned that I would share why Main Street in New Albany holds a special place in my heart. When I was little, I loved spending time with my grandparents and they would drive me down to Main Street. I loved the architecture and learning about the history of New Albany. My grandparents also had some friends that lived on that street as well. I was the little girl who would beg my Granny to take me to the Culbertson Mansion, the Paris House, and the Scribner House. I don’t why I became so infatuated, but the historical significance was so interesting to me. I can’t tell you how many times my Granny and I went on a Culbertson Mansion Tour. Every time I’m on Main Street, it always makes me think of those memories with my grandparents taking me on tours and letting me walk down the street and admire the beautiful fancy black wrought iron fences. The house pictured above is on Main Street and I just wanted to share my memories as to why I love shooting content in the downtown area.

Now for my plans! Some are big and some are very minor:

  1. ACHIEVE MY GOALS AT WORK. I work in business development and fundraising in the healthcare industry. I love my team and I look forward to helping develop an even stronger healthcare system as we battle COVID-19 in the community.
  2. GROW MY BLOG. I would like to grow my following to at least 10,000 followers and plan out my content by calendar year.
  3. TRAVEL TO A NEW COUNTRY. This is supposed to be happening in September, but my boyfriend and I are already planning to push this to 2021 due to the current situation in our world. We want to be able to fully embrace the beauty and culture of the places we are travelling and we feel that it will be more a challenge if there are still numerous restrictions. I’m going to keep the country a secret. 🙂
  4. READ 5 BOOKS. Luckily, my cousin and her husband just sent me a book for my birthday, so that is what I will be reading first. It is called One Million Followers: How I Built a Massive Social Following in 30 Days. The reason this is relevant is because my cousin is one of the first few that I spoke with about revamping my blog (hint: #2 above). She was 100% on board and said go for it girl!! I appreciate her and her husband’s little surprise and I am excited to learn new tips and tricks about building my own brand.
  5. INVEST MORE FINANCIALLY. If you do not have a financial advisor, go get one!! This was the smartest decision I ever made right after I graduated college and started my first real job.
  6. JOIN A NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS. I had the opportunity to join another board and this is for an education foundation. I am very passionate about education and think it’s critical that we all devote ourselves to life-long learning and maintaining a growth mindset. I am excited to give back to the community, meet new people, and help support my local school system. I think being on a board is a wonderful experience to have as a young professional, it allows you to be exposed to new mentors and leaders, and the best part is you get to make an impact on a great cause!
  7. EAT HEALTHIER. I don’t eat terribly by any means, but I could do so much better. I need to incorporate more fruits and veggies into my daily routine and eliminate the processed food as much as possible.
  8. RUN A MINI. My boyfriend and I had talked about running the Derby Mini, but we already had plans to be out of town. The mini has been rescheduled, but we plan to do our research and get one on the calendar for 2020 if it occurs. Fingers crossed!
  9. LISTEN TO A PODCAST. I would love some recommendations because I am lost on where to start. I am looking for something motivational, inspirational, and/or humorous.
  10. VOLUNTEER SOMEWHERE NEW.
  11. TRAVEL TO A NEW CITY IN THE U.S. I am thinking Savannah, GA or St. Louis, MO.
  12. BUY A NEW DRIVER. I am an avid golfer and played in college. My driver is now 9 years old and ready for retirement. This is just something that I keep putting off and now that I am playing again regularly, it’s time to make the investment.
  13. GO PLAY A NEW GOLF COURSE. I now have a golf membership at a local club and I want to take a weekend trip and play a new course somewhere in the region.
  14. MAKE A TIK TOK VIDEO. I don’t think I’ll make these often, but I feel I should try it at least once.
  15. GO AXE THROWING. I got a gift card for Christmas and have yet to use it. Hopefully things will open and I could go over the summer.
  16. MAKE A NEW FRIEND. Why not?
  17. LEARN TO COOK. This actually needs to happen. LOL. Recipe suggestions are welcome!
  18. PLAN TRIPS FOR 2021-2022. I would love to check a new continent off my list. Maybe Asia or Africa?? A girl likes to dream and plan, it’s just how I am.
  19. TRY NEW LOCAL FITNESS STUDIOS. CycleBar and Ambition Fitness (Women only) in Louisville have both been on my list to try. Many fitness studios will allow you to have your first class free to see if you like it.
  20. BUY A BIKE. When I lived in Indianapolis a family member and I would always ride her bikes. Now that I moved back to Southern Indiana, I would like to ride again in the evenings.
  21. STRETCHING A FEW TIMES A WEEK.This sounds random, but with how much I workout, I have found that stretching is something I need to make a higher priority and my muscles would heal more quickly.
  22. BUY AN APPLE WATCH. I think this would be super convenient and beneficial to my life since I am on the go so much. I also want to know how many steps I get in a day and track my sleep.
  23. VISIT MY BEST FRIENDS THAT LIVE OUT OF TOWN. Tennessee and Mississippi here I come!!
  24. SPEND MORE QUALITY TIME WITH MY LOVED ONES.

Cheers to a 24 as solid as GOLD!

Scarlett

The New Normal

Happy Friday! How has this week in quarantine gone for you? Whether you are an essential worker on our frontlines or someone who is working remotely with the entire crew at home, just take a deep breath and reflect for a minute on the past month and a half…………

First, THANK YOU to all of our front line workers who are putting their lives at risk everyday to keep our community healthy!! You deserve all the praise in the world and just know people are thinking about you everyday and are greatly appreciative of your service.

I always come up with blog topics, themes, or captions before I ever bring them to fruition (aka a photo). This one is close to my heart and I am quite excited to share. I realize the longer the blog, the less people will read, so… bear with me as I put a little more passion into this one. TLDR is featured at the very bottom if you don’t have a lot of time.

On Friday, March 13th (six weeks ago and an ironic date) my supervisor called me in and communicated that we were officially going to a remote schedule for our safety. At the time, I was thinking, “I’ve worked remote before, I can handle it” (one day a week at my previous job) and obviously knew we were making the best decision to keep everyone safe. I wasn’t necessarily thinking about the long-term effects and drastic impact Covid-19 would have on our lives. I soon began to realize that what was once considered to be “normal” may not ever be the same for many months and possibly even years. Obviously, Covid-19 has changed our world forever and we must be prepared to embrace our “New Normal” with an open mind.

In no particular order, here is a list of things that I have learned to appreciate and have helped me maintain a sense of positivity during Quarantine 2020.

IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS. I’ve always been a huge believer that the little things in life are the most special. Let me explain…

  1. I have always been a busy body and always have something to do. Being able to say “no” is one of my flaws, but I have learned to be more selective and keep my priorities in check over the past year.
  2. It’s nice to have a reason to stay home and just RELAX. I’ve bonded with my family, my boyfriend, and my two precious pups more than ever

I CAN’T WAIT TO HUG MY GRANDPARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS. We can all relate to this necessary “social distancing.” A new word that has surfaced in connection with Covid-19. For those of you that know me well, you know my family is super close! I am accustomed to casually stopping by my grandparent’s house for a visit, having impromptu lunches, going on fun shopping dates, and initiating FaceTime calls about random things. However, this has not been possible and I look forward to these fun times again when it is safe.

I CAN’T WAIT TO HUG MY FRIENDS. I foresee many wine nights, bachelorette parties, brunches, pool days, bridal showers and weddings in my future. I know that this situation will not last forever! I will definitely continue to live my life to the fullest. We all can relate to how easy it is to take these special things for granted. ZOOM CALLS have been a fantastic way to keep up with my friends. Many of my close friends don’t live nearby, so we have decided to continue the Zoom calls beyond the days of Covid-19 Quarantine.

I HOPE YOU GO ON THE ADVENTURES AND VACATIONS YOU HAVE POSTPONED.

  1. Traveling has always been something I am super passionate about. I personally think it’s critical to invest in life experiences that will help you to explore and better appreciate the world around us. I have been blessed with parents who value the benefits of world travel at a young age. The older you become, the more difficult it is to get away from life’s responsibilities. My parents have always believed that traveling is an important aspect of EDUCATION. Exploring new countries and cultures allows one to learn more about themselves, to understand implicit bias, and to appreciate what makes different cultures and humanity unique.
  2. 2020 was a huge year for so many of my family members, friends and myself in regard to life’s celebrations, unique travel experiences, honeymoons, or other special adventures. Two of my biggest trips of 2020 have been postponed, but God always has a plan and I recommend you start researching bucket list destinations and make a plan for the future.

My DOGS BARK MORE OFTEN THAN I THOUGHT.  Apparently we have crazy, harmful, unseen, intruders that come to the door multiple times a day….. What???? These would be known as the wind, the rain,  the delivery people, the postal workers, the sanitation workers, the Zoom audio, etc., etc… I could go on and on…LOL! These precious pooches are always on guard and ready to protect their family!

I REALIZED HOW MUCH MONEY I SPENT ON “LIFE.” I’ve always kept a budget, but wow! I didn’t realize how much money I had been spending on “life” in general. Quarantine has squelched many activities and I didn’t realize how much I had been spending on gas, going out to dinner, meeting friends for cocktails, visiting my favorite salon….. it’s amazing how much money this adds up on your monthly budget. Now, I don’t regret these fun activities for one minute as that is the beauty of life, but this definitely puts things into a different perspective for me.

I MISS BEING PHYSICALLY PRESENT AT CHURCH. This unprecedented time sure makes one appreciate his/her faith. I think it’s incredible that the majority of churches have the resources to provide online streaming of mass or services, but I sure do miss going into church with the spirit of the congregation and the beautiful music. Online is great to connect us with our faith, but it’s just not the same. Prayers that we can gather together again soon.

I ACTUALLY LEARNED THE RULES OF CHESS.

  1. This sounds lame, and some are thinking, it’s not that hard, just read about it. THIS is one of the “little things” that I put off while my life was “so busy” over the past two and a half years. My boyfriend and I played this on one of our first dates and I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. For months, I told myself I would learn but never got around to it. Well, guess what? I got around to it and my boyfriend and I have been playing chess and enjoying wine almost every evening. We have had more fun doing this!
  2. We are also fans of many other board games. If you need recommendations. Just let me know and we’ll be glad to share our favorites.Get off your phone and just have some good OLD FASHIONED FUN. You won’t regret it!

SUPPORT LOCAL, I REPEAT SUPPORT LOCAL! I have always tried to do this in general, but it’s critical now more than ever. Please support your local small businesses! We want them to survive. 🙂

IT’S OK IF YOU DON’T COME OUT OF THIS WITH GRAND LIFE PLANS AND “A NEW YOU.” I’ve read quite a few articles suggesting that you have “failed” if you don’t come out of quarantine refreshed, “a new you,” or don’t have new grandiose plans for your life. Let’s just pause for a second! You do what’s best for you during this time. Many people are facing various challenges with unemployment at an all-time high, children learning virtually at home, parents working from home, family members are ill, childcare is limited, anxieties are high…Please, take care of yourself and don’t read too much into these social pressures. YOU ARE FANTASTIC ALREADY and everyone has their own path and plan. Quarantine 2020 is a time we will never forget. Let’s pray for a vaccine and that our healthcare system can stay strong. Our American Spirit is strong and we will make it through this pandemic together!

Thank you for joining me on my quarantine reflection. Below are some quick bullet points on things that have made me smile or kept me very positive through this time.

TLDR; Things that have kept me positive during quarantine:

  • My support system
  • Creating an updated bucket list for myself and one for my significant other and I to have together
  • Virtually Volunteering (Please let me know if you would like to learn more)
  • Zoom cocktail hours with family and friends
  • Exercise-virtual classes, runs, walks
  • Playing golf (Golf courses are still open and have taken CDC precautions)
  • Online Church Services
  • Walks and fetch with my fur babies
  • Trying to teach my dogs tricks
  • Playing board games
  • Fragrant candles
  • Getting ready occasionally (Even though I don’t have anywhere to go)
  • Advancing my cooking skills (VERY MINOR)
  • Supporting local small business through curbside pick-up (Restaurants, shops, etc. )
  • Refreshing or cleaning your household
  • Reading new books, articles, etc.
  • Online browsing (Notice I didn’t say shopping LOL)

Stay safe and keep the faith!

Happy Thursday! Sephora has officially started their spring savings event for Rouge, VIB, and Insider Members.

Rouge 20% off (4/17-5/1), VIB 15% off (4/21-4/29), and Insider 10% (4/23-4/27)

  1. Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer: This is the one “must have”  that I have not tried myself. I ordered this yesterday and cannot wait to try it. I heard it provides great coverage and I was ready to switch up my concealer.
  2. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation: If you are not happy with your foundation and you have naturally dry skin, this is the best ever!!!! I could go on and on. For years, I wore a Clinique Superbalanced Silk and Bare Minerals. The Clinique was not a good color match and the Bare Minerals dried my face out. This is one of the hottest items in the makeup market and I will likely never switch.
  3. Benefit Cookie Highlighter: I SWEAR by this. I used to use a Laura Mercier and Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter and “Cookie” is by far the best one. It has the most natural glow. A lot goes a long way. If you use too much your face almost looks wet (in a good way) but you can definitely blend it down if you overuse.
  4. Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow: I only wear this for special events or during the holiday season. Application is super easy and sometimes I use my finger instead of the applicator if I just want a light sparkle.
  5. Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Palette: (Pictured above) I just used this over the weekend and I highly recommend if you like light pastel or neutral eye colors.
  6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Carli Bybel Eyeshadow Palette: The is currently 50% off and the color/glitter combo is great for everyday wear or a night out.
  7. Clinique High Impact Mascara: I have used this on and off for years. At the moment I need to order some more, but this is fantastic for bold natural lashes.
  8. Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray: Setting spray keeps your makeup looking flawless for a long period of time. I love this for workdays because it keeps my face fresh through the afternoon and into the evening if I have an event.
  9. Philosophy Melon Daiquiri Shower Gel: I got this for Christmas and it smells so good! Give it a try.
  10. Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Hand Soap & Body Wash: I love Jo Malone Fragrances! She is a perfumer that makes luxury candles, perfumes, lotions, etc.
  11. Miss Dior Eau de Parfum: I have this in 1.0oz. This size is fantastic for travel and I keep it in my purse to use before work after I go to my morning workout classes.
  12. Capri Blue Volcano Candle: This is a fresh tropical fruit and citrus scent that can fill a room quickly. It is one of my favorites!
  13. The POREfessional Face Primer: I put this on before I apply my makeup, but you can also apply afterwards. This helps smooth your skin and diminish your pores. Only use a small amount.
  14. Lancome Visionare Eye Cream Advanced Multi-Correcting Eye Balm : I use this every morning and night around my eyes. It minimizes puffiness and dark circles. I use one pump for both eyes and a little goes a long way.
  15. Clinique Dramatically Different Lipstick: I use the color “All Heart” which is not in stock, but there are a few options left. Great for dry lips!

Enjoy the sale and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Dermaplaning at Home

Happy Friday y’all! I’ve been excited to share my dermaplane routine with my followers for about a week now. I plan my blog content 1-2 weeks in advance so I can quickly share during the weekdays before or after work. I started getting dermaplane facials about a year ago and I absolutely love them!! Growing up, the little peach fuzz on my face always bothered me so I was thrilled when I learned about this new skin care practice. It removes dry skin and peach fuzz to give you a silky smooth glow. If you are in the Louisville or Indianapolis area, please feel to reach out to me personally and I would be happy to give you recommendations on where to go to get this service done. I have been to numerous places in both areas and was pleased with everyone I went to.

Before I go through the steps for my quick at home 15 minute dermaplane facial, I want to make one thing clear. I am by no means an esthetician or skin care professional. I do NOT recommend trying this at home if you have not had it done professionally first. It is important to know what the correct feeling is on your face. If not done properly, you could cut your face and/or irritate your skin. Here is a link to my video that demonstrates the steps below.

~ Disposable Sterilized Scalpel Blades ~ Guarded Disposable Blades ~

Step 1: Cleanse your face

  • Use a makeup wipe to remove all makeup on your face
  • Use a cleanser with an exfoliant to wash your face thoroughly
  • Use a toner with a cotton ball
  • Now you are ready to go! Do not moisturize until after you complete the dermaplane facial

Step 2: Use a scalpel or guarded blade

  • Remove your sterilized scalpel or guarded blade. If your scalpel/guarded blade did not come sterilized then you need to dip it in rubbing alcohol before use.
  • HOLD blade at 45 DEGREE ANGLE and make little strokes as you move up and down your face (pick a spot, 1 small stroke, 2 small stroke, 3 small stroke) then move to the next spot. You will continue to do this on the rest of your face. FYI, I do not do my forehead on my own at home. If you go to an esthetician, they will dermaplane your forehead as well.
  • Touch up any areas that you missed. Your skin may become red and that is perfectly normal as long as you are not having major irritation. Please monitor once complete.

Step 3: Moisturize

  • I recommend using your heaviest moisturizer for your skin to recover quickly.
  • If you plan to be out in the sun the day after you dermaplane, be sure to use at least 30 spf on your face as your skin may be more sensitive.

Yay! You have completed your dermaplane facial! I recommend watching my video to get a more detailed look of me actually using the scalpel on my face. I usually do this every six weeks. Please don’t hesitate to email me via the contact page or direct message me on Instagram.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Scarlett
